DEMAND HAS OUTGROWN THE CURRENT PREMISES
-
A NEW Boots pharmacy is set to open at Derriford Hospital this spring, replacing the existing facility which has struggled to meet demand, often with long queues of patients waiting for prescriptions.
The bigger and more welcoming new outpatient pharmacy will be double the size of the hospital's existing unit and will be run by Boots in partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHPT). As a result, the unit will be open on Saturdays as well as week days.
As a result of the partnership with Boots, patients will now also have the option to collect medicines from their local pharmacy through the Boots network in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
