BIG SURGE IN VISITORS TO PLYMOUTH CITY CENTRE
PLYMOUTH’S Christmas Market is causing visitors to flock to the city centre in the run-up to the big day.
An increased entertainment programme and new business openings are also being given as reasons why the city centre is busier in comparison to the past two years.
Plymouth City Centre Company said footfall has been steadily rising with a recent surge in numbers - and it is now outperforming most town and city centres across the UK in terms of footfall growth. In the year to date, footfall in Plymouth city centre is up 2.5% compared with a UK high street average of 1.5%, and a South West average of -2.3%.
