Love your neighbour as yourself

IF you are fortunate enough to have an apple tree you will know that this year is a fantastic year for fruit, every tree seems to be covered and people are giving them away.

For us this bumper harvest brings work; we have several trees, mostly old varieties that can be juiced and made into cider.

However, without the help of our friends and neighbours we would not be able to bring in this amazing abundance of fruit.

Over the course of several days, we have been helped by 15 different people in different ways, climbing trees to knock down fruit, working the apple press, pouring juice into containers but mostly just the back breaking work of picking up the apples.
