MILLBRIDGE INN SOLD TO NEW OWNERS AFTER 38 YEARS

- By WILLIAM TELFORD

Landlord's 'emotional decision' to sell his pub

THE owner of Plymouth's famous Millbridge Inn has made the emotional decision to sell up after 38 years.

Jerry Eunson, in a social media post to regulars at the Stoke hostelry, said that with a “heavy heart” he had struck a deal with bar operator Punch Pubs and Co.

The 63-year-old thanked loyal customers - and the bands that had made the pub, affectionately known as the Milli, a landmark on Plymouth’s music scene.

Mr Eunson said the new operators intend to retain the pub's “ethos” as a live music and sport venue.

He will be keeping his two other pubs: the Firkin Doghouse, in Union Street, and the Pheasant Pluckers in Albert Road, Devonport.

Covid Inquiry a complete waste of time and money

THE ludicrously expensive Covid Inquiry is wonderful for lawyers. It will cost in total £250 million and last four or five years. Not a single life will be saved. Even with the benefit of hindsight its conclusions are confusing. We are told \"if lockdown had happened a week earlier 23,000 lives would have been saved, but lockdown could have been avoided altogether\".
