Kenny captures loneliness and loss of lockdown

PLYMOUTH poet Kenny Knight's latest book of verse has perfectly captured the loss and loneliness of the Covid lockdown.
Kenny’s fourth collection was written between 2020 and 2022 when the streets of his home city resembled a ghost town.
Entitled Ghost Town Street, and published by leading poetry publisher Shearsman Books, the 48 poems encapsulate the period with some beautiful and poignant verse.
Written in Kenny's unique style - described on Waterstones website as a “surreal mix of deadpan narrative, skewed memory and keen observation” - the poems blend the humorous with the profound.
Waterstones website said it is “a delightful road to be on, and Kenny is the ideal travel companion’.
Kenny, who has continued to write and recite stunning poetry as his eyesight has deteriorated in recent years, is among Plymouth’s foremost poets.
His collections The Honicknowle Book of the Dead, A Long Weekend on the Sofa, and Love Letter to an Imaginary Girlfriend, have been published by Shearsman Books and are highly acclaimed.
