'I lost 10st with support of others'

A GRANDMOTHER who had to switch to velcro-closing shoes because she couldn't bend over to tie her laces has shed 10st 6lb.

Michele Pook said that she was finding everyday life increasingly difficult.

“I was constantly lethargic, lacked motivation, and couldn't walk far without getting short of breath,” she said. “My knees ached, I couldn't bend down to tie my work shoes, and I had to buy Velcro ones, I was devastated.”

Clothes in a size 24 were becoming tight, and a holiday flight brought fresh embarrassment when the tray table wouldn't sit properly due to her stomach. “I pretended I didn’t want anything to eat,’ she admitted.
