ARGYLE DEFENDER PROUD TO REPRESENT HIS NATION AT AFRICA'S BIGGEST EVENT
BRENDAN Galloway made his 100th Plymouth Argyle appearance in the League One victory against Rotherham United at Home Park last Saturday, but it was also his last outing for the Pilgrims this year.
That is because Galloway has now joined up with the Zimbabwe squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Morocco and starts towards the end of the month.
Argyle reached agreement with the Zimbabwe Football Association for Galloway to stay with them for their away game against Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night, which they won 1-0, and for the visit of Rotherham before leaving for Africa.
Pilgrims' boss Tom Cleverley is proud that the club will be represented at a major international tournament by Galloway, but admitted the 29-year-old would be missed at the heart of the Pilgrims rearguard.
Cleverley said: “He brings leadership, calmness, good experience, defensive one-v-one qualities, he's quick and this season he has been available for us every weekend.
