Council must make 'tough decisions'

PLYMOUTH City Council will be considering the future of its 22 public toilets as part of a review of all its assets and has warned that "some tough decisions" will have to be made.

The council says it needs to look at the placement of its loos in line with new development, green spaces and transport hubs and how people move around the city.

It is developing an asset management plan for its 1,000 or so buildings, facilities and monuments and will decide whether it needs them all or not.

Some loos could be closed if they are near publicly accessible buildings with toilets, or new ones opened up in areas of heavy footfall financed by investors.
