The Herald
|December 02, 2025
A PLYMOUTH man has been been jailed for his role in a horrific axe attack on a busy dual carriageway.
Esmatullah Paktiawal
(KENT POLICE)
Esmatullah Paktiawa was one of two men found guilty of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm with intent, following a “brutal and premeditated attack” on December 14, 2024.
The 36-year-old, of Britannia Place, was found injured hours after the attack and tried to claim he had been harmed during a fall - but the brutal truth soon emerged.
One man was left fighting for his life after the attack, which happened on the A2 near Canterbury in Kent. Paktiawal and co-defendant Dawood Khan fled the scene.
The pair were sentenced on Wednesday (November 26) and were each handed a 24-year jail term.
