Christ's eternal message of hope

MY family and I love our city. In recent weeks with the sun shining, the city seems to have awoken from wintery slumber, the Hoe full of picnic-ers, conversations buzzing across the Barbican, the Sound's almost Mediterranean waters, trees are blossoming, and from Roborough to Mount Wise yellow daffodils and Spanish bluebells emerge from the soil. Our city and gardens are coming to life.

Christ's eternal message of hope

This weekend we celebrate Easter at the heart of which is a message of coming to life. Easter has been celebrated for nearly 2,000 years, it marks the moments where, the Bible records, Jesus Christ died on a cross on the Friday, but was raised to life on Sunday. An innocent wandering preacher executed and humiliated for seemingly encouraging love and peace and joy. A voice of hope silenced. A lifeless body laid in a stone tomb.
