Brett header earns Parkway rare back-to-back victories

PLYMOUTH Parkway found just enough incision to turn a blue-sky afternoon into a golden one, edging past bottom-placed Bracknell Town thanks to a second-half header from Ryan Brett.

It wasn't pretty and it didn't need to be. On an October day that felt more like late summer, the Theatre of Trees finally had a finish to match the weather: three points, a clean sheet, and the perfect appetiser ahead of tomorrow evening.

Parkway kept faith with last week's XI, while Taylor Scarff and Carlo Garside were back among the substitutes, and began with the same passing rhythm that underpinned the Trophy comeback.

The first half was chess not chase, with a congested midfield, referee Rowan Clarke the busiest man on the pitch, half-appeals for a home penalty waved away and little to separate the sides beyond intent.
