Nine-year-old girl shot with an airgun as youth yelled racist abuse
The Guardian
|September 20, 2025
A nine-year-old girl was shot with an airgun in what is being treated as a racially aggravated assault in Bristol, police have said.
The victim was hit three times, Avon and Somerset police said, and the white male suspect shouted racially abusive language at her.
Her family is said to be distressed by the attack, and the “traumatised” young girl has been left too frightened to leave her house, according to the police force. Her attacker, who has not been found, is described as being 17 or 18 years old and about 5ft 11in (1.80 metres) tall, with dark-blond hair and a slim face.
