Pope Leo XIV can add another major milestone to his CV: a trading card that outperforms those of the basketball stars LeBron James and Victor Wembanyama.
Topps, a US manufacturer of collectible cards, sold 133,535 during a limited-time release from Thursday to Sunday – a record for any non-sports card under the brand. Its Topps Now cards mark milestone events and are sold individually – with the one depicting the Chicago-born pope listed at $8.99 (£6.80).
