The Indian Army, especially the elite "Chinar Warriors" known for their expertise in avalanche and high-altitude rescue operations, continues to play a vital role in safeguarding the sacred Amarnath Yatra and its lakhs of pilgrims.

The Army's legacy in Jammu and Kashmir is deeply rooted in its people-centric approach. Through countless relief efforts and community engagement programs, the Army has earned the trust and admiration of locals across the valley. Whether in times of natural calamity or unrest, the Army has been a stabilizing force, stepping forward with courage and professionalism.

From the 1947 tribal invasion to the insurgency years and beyond, the Indian Army has remained at the forefront of restoring peace and order in the region. Their consistent efforts in counter-terrorism operations, public welfare initiatives, and infrastructure development have played an instrumental role in bringing back normalcy to Kashmir.

Most recently, during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra 2025, the Indian Army has undertaken comprehensive measures to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of pilgrims. The Yatra, renowned for its spiritual significance and challenging terrain, demands precise logistical planning, especially along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and the mountainous Baltal and Pahalgam routes. With unpredictable weather, landslides, and security threats still possible, the Army remains on high alert throughout the pilgrimage.
