COLE ROBINSON, WHO MADE MESSI MOVIE, HAS TWO PIECES IN NEW FOOTBALL FANZINE EXHIBITION

- By POPPY KENNEDY

Teesside filmmaker handpicked by British Museum

A TEESSIDE filmmaker's football documentaries convinced the British Library to handpick him for its latest exhibition.

"Voice of the Fans" looks at the history of fan-led football media and fanzines - including legendary Boro fanzine Fly Me To The Moon.

After seeing some of Cole Robinson's work, particularly his documentary pieces on the Tyne-Wear derby and Lionel Messi's hometown Rosario, he was invited by the British Museum to submit pieces for it.

And Cole, of Redcar, says he was delighted to have two pieces accepted.

Voice of the Fans, which is free to attend at Leeds Central Library until August 10, explores more than 60 years of fan-made football media, from DIY fanzines to digital activism.
