Stockton MP's immigration role for Conservatives

TEESSIDE MP Matt Vickers has been appointed as the Conservatives' Shadow Minister for Illegal Immigration.

The Stockton West MP who was the only Tory in the North East to win a seat at last year's General Election has added the immigration brief to his existing role as Shadow Minister for Policing, Crime and Fire.

Mr Vickers said: "Immigration remains a huge concern to many of my residents amongst other things the huge pressure it creates on public spending.

"We have seen cases where foreign criminals have managed to avoid being deported from the country because their children don't like foreign chicken nuggets, and because their neighbours in their home country would view them with suspicion because they are too westernised.
