Stalker's ex-girlfriend tells of six-stone weight loss and crippling anxiety
The Gazette

AN OBSESSIVE stalker told his former girlfriend he would "send demons" when an argument flared as she packed her suitcase to leave.
Teesside Crown Court heard how Mohamed Elgamal became possessive and controlling within months of starting the relationship with the woman.
The 21-year-old would not let her spend her own money and refused to allow her to see friends.
But when the woman ended the relationship, Elgamal refused to move on and kept turning up at her house - despite being told not to by police.
The Middlesbrough court heard how his campaign of harassment, which included two assaults on his former partner, has taken a toll on her mental health.
In a victim impact statement, she said: "I struggle to sleep at night and have flashbacks to the relationship. I can't eat. Prior to my relationship, I was happy and healthy, regularly attending boxing classes and going out singing.
"I have had dramatic weight loss since the relationship and have lost over six stone due to anxiety.
"I am constantly looking over my shoulder in case he is there. I don't go out anymore or see my family or friends.
"If I do go out, I have flashbacks to the times we were together which makes me panic and become upset.
"I would not wish these feelings on anyone. They have destroyed me as a person."
