THE North's only beach music festival hits the shores of Redcar this weekend with a huge line-up of bands and DJs.

Three days of music are planned to suit different tastes from 90s rock bands and up-and-coming indie groups to underground and funky house DJ sets.

It follows the huge success of last year's event which saw 5,000 music fans flock to the seaside to see the likes of The Libertines, The Pigeon Detectives and The Zutons.

Tomorrow, Modefest comes to Redcar featuring headliner and Ibiza favourite Josh Baker.

On Saturday, the sands will be taken over by Hacienda, with dance music heroes including Graeme Park, Todd Terry and Roger Sanchez.

Sunday is Redcar Beach Live and sees Ocean Colour Scene, The Coral and The K's topping the packed bill.

The event has been running since 2013 when promoter and now boss of the Empire Jordan Jefferson approached the council and launched their own event alongside the local authority. Since then they've held events almost every year.
