Signing of Brittain was worth waiting for, says Edwards

In what feels like a really positive window immediately after the fact, Boro managed to bring 11 new players to the club.

But the mood around Boro's recruitment this summer was not always a positive one.

It took time to get deals over the line, and in the week of the first game of the season, Callum Brittain arrived to become the third signing of the window.

The reason, head coach Rob Edwards feels, is encapsulated by the pursuit of the right wing-back, who the Boro boss feels will be a crucial signing for the club.

Heading into the summer with a plan and clear idea of which players they wanted, Boro ultimately had to remain patient for their targets to be available, and at the right price.
