Service slams 'deliberate fire setting' as 230 calls are made

THE fire service has issued a strong statement after a weekend of 230 calls to the control room.
Cleveland Fire Brigade said that it believed nine separate incidents on Eston Hills were started deliberately.
It has hit out at "deliberate fire setting", telling the public it's not a game.
The strain it's placed on services during busy times isn't the only reason for the concern, it adds.
The fire service is asking for anyone who may have seen anything "suspicious" to come forward.
It's the second weekend of incidents in a row after Cleveland Fire Brigade was called to deliberately-started fires on Eston Hills on Sunday, April 6, which is now under police investigation.
Around 30,000 square metres of gorse and grass were affected in that blaze.
