A VIOLENT thug turned his chainsaw on and threatened to “chop up” his drinking buddy, after a night of alcohol and cocaine.

- By ESTHER HALLIGAN

Michael McDonagh, 37, swung his chainsaw towards his pal and shouted: “Sit down, you s***”

As the terrified woman tried to leave his home, he grabbed her by the neck and kicked her. He then pinned the woman down by her arm and dragged her to the floor.

McDonagh took his victim’s phone and began scrolling through it as she sobbed.

Teesside Crown Court has heard that the victim feared for her life in the unprovoked attack, in McDonagh’s Skelton home. The two pals had been enjoying drinks in his living room on April 23.

The woman had ordered an alcohol delivery and the two both took cocaine.
