Letters sent to schools in warning over 'spice vapes'

A STARK warning has been sounded after tests revealed vapes which left Teesside youngsters in hospital contained spice.
All secondary schools across Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland are issuing letters to parents and carers following recent frightening incidents which resulted in a number of young people receiving hospital treatment.
Tests at a specialist laboratory found vapes used by the children contained samples of spice, an illegal substance known as a “zombie drug”.
Mark Adams, joint director of public health for South Tees, said it was vital all parents and children were aware of the risks.
