HSE FOUND MULTIPLE HEALTH AND SAFETY BREACHES
A MIDDLESBROUGH joinery firm has been fined £10,000 after workers were exposed to wood dust. Inspectors found numerous health and safety breaches and said the company had failed to protect its staff.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) visited Abbey Joinery and Manufacture Limited at its Worlton Road site on May 25, 2023, for an unannounced inspection, where they identified “multiple failings” relating to the company’s control of wood dust as well as its maintenance of electrical systems.
