Injury situation is easing, says boss Hellberg

KIM Hellberg says Middlesbrough's injury situation is getting closer to easing, but the trip to Charlton Athletic might come too soon for recent absentees.

Boro were able to welcome George Edmundson back at Hull City on Friday night, with the centre-back boosting defensive options with a 22-minute cameo from the bench.

But Boro remain without Dael Fry, Luke Ayling, Darragh Lenihan, Aidan Morris and Alan Browne, with Hellberg confirming none of those players have yet trained fully. Of the five, however, only Lenihan is understood to be some distance from a return.

Asked for an injury update ahead of tonight's trip to Charlton, the Boro boss said: "A lot of the players are getting back. I have to take it day by day with them, so we will see.

"I think it's five players that have been away, but they are all getting closer. We'll see if there can be any new additions to this squad, or whether we will have to a wait a little bit longer.
