'I think of the baby as my guardian angel who came to save me'

PREGNANT MUM TELLS OF CANCER ORDEAL AND LOSS OF HER UNBORN BABY

A YOUNG woman has opened up about how what should have been the most exciting time of her life took a heartbreaking turn.

At 14 weeks pregnant a newly married Sophia Yasin was excited to be looking forward to the birth of her first child with her husband, Lewis Osborne - but sadly devastation was around the corner.

Sophia, who lives in Middlesbrough, said: “I was 14 weeks pregnant.

“The morning sickness was so bad, it was lasting all day and I did feel really, really poorly.

“Every woman who had had a baby was saying it was pregnancy symptoms and would go.”

But, one day at work the 29-year-old collapsed and colleagues phoned an ambulance.

At first doctors thought it was pneumonia, but wanted to carry out further tests.
