Hellberg keen to give current players 'every opportunity'

KIM Hellberg has asked that Middlesbrough's January transfer planning be put on hold, to give him time to fully assess his current players.

We are now less than a month away from the January transfer window, where Boro will have the opportunity to add to their squad should they see fit.

But Hellberg is just one week into the job at Boro and has previously expressed his desire to hand every Boro player an opportunity.

As such, while Boro's recruitment staff, led by head of football Kieran Scott, will have particular areas in mind to strengthen, and as always a list of potential targets, solidifying plans for the window will be on hold for another week or two.

Hellberg said: "Kieran (Scott - director of football) is brilliant in terms of talking to me in different ways and asking me questions (of) 'what do you want to know now'.
