WE Townies can sometimes feel a bit jealous of our friends in more rural areas whose garden bird feeders are visited by several different species.

At the moment the only visitors I am receiving is my flock of house sparrows, with Mickey the Mouse also turning up on occasions.

When you are a Townie, spotting unusual birds in your garden can be a bit confusing. In fact, the vast majority of my mail from readers is asking me to ID new birds that have turned up.

Ironically, the vast majority of these pictures, around 90% I would say, are chaffinches.
