Fleetwood fends off the 'bombers'
The Gazette
|May 15, 2025
TOMMY Fleetwood insists Quail Hollow is not simply a "bomber's paradise" as he bids for a maiden major title in the 107th US PGA Championship.

At 7,626 yards, Quail Hollow is a long course in normal circumstances and the par-71 layout will play even longer this week following torrential rain on Monday and Tuesday.
Europe's Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald labelled it a “brute” and “bomber's paradise” was the description of double US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, which could mean bad news for Fleetwood’s chances.
Fleetwood is ranked 132nd in driving distance on the PGA Tour this season with an average of 296.5 yards, 22 yards behind third-ranked Rory Mcllroy.
