Driver reversed over man as brick is thrown at car

A SUBMARINE apprentice’s car struck and then reversed over a man leaving him needing 15 pins in his pelvis after “some kind of disagreement”.

Peter White, 21, left his victim with serious injuries including a fractured pelvis after the incident on Davison Drive, West View, in Hartlepool.

A court heard there had been a “tangled background” with the victim claiming he had been threatened in the run-up to the collision.

He had thrown a brick at the windscreen of White's car before being knocked to the floor. It then reversed over him.

Shaun Dryden, prosecuting, told the Teesside Crown Court hearing on Wednesday, the victim had been drinking at his cousin's house in Hartlepool on February 17, 2024.

He returned home at around 4pm and discovered his windows had been smashed.

“The complainant assumed this defendant was responsible for that damage,” said Mr Dryden.
