Dealer caught with 80 bags of cocaine

A DRUG dealer who was caught “red-handed” by police has been locked up.

Joshua Moffitt, 28, was seen by plain clothes officers selling drugs on Acklam Road in Middlesbrough. Addicts were seen approaching him and handing him cash in exchange for small packages, on February 5.

When an officer tried to arrest him, Moffitt “swung a punch, but missed” before taking the officer to the ground with a “leg swipe”.

As other officers moved in, Teesside Crown Court heard that Moffitt began throwing items over a wall.

On Friday, Jenny Haigh, prosecuting, told the court: “He put PC Maloney in a headlock and he bit PC Callender’s finger.”

Moffitt discarded 16 grip seal bags each containing £30 of crack cocaine and two bags each containing £10 of crack cocaine, the court heard.
