Court day looms for woman accused of smuggling cocaine

A BEAUTICIAN from Middlesbrough accused of smuggling 43kg of cocaine into the US is set to appear in court this month, one year on from her initial arrest.
Kimberly Hall was stopped at O'Hare Airport, Chicago, in August 2024.
She had been due to board her connecting flight home to Manchester on her way back from Mexico.
Homeland Security investigators detained the now 29-year-old after allegedly discovering cocaine, estimated to be worth £3.5m, packed in two suitcases.
Inmate details from Cook County Sheriff's Office outline Hall's next court date is listed for Monday, August 25.
The volume of drugs seized means the Teesside woman finds herself facing one of the harshest sentences, with Class X Felonies typically carrying 15-60 years in prison.
