Charity climb in his grandad's memory

NINE-YEAR-OLD PLANS HIS NEXT FUNDRAISER AFTER THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE

A DETERMINED nine-year-old took on the famous Three Peaks Challenge in memory of his adored grandad.

William Martin, from Skelton, raised over £650 for Macmillan Cancer as a nod to his beloved grandfather Michael Sinclair who died aged 63, in September 2019 after a battle with oesophageal cancer.

The youngster initially approached his mum, Kirsty Smith, with an idea to make loom bands (bracelets made out of lots of tiny elastic bands) and sell them at his school, during break time at St Josephs Primary School, in Loftus, to raise money for the charity which helped care for his grandad.
