Boro feeling confident over battle for Brittain

MIDDLESBROUGH are feeling increasingly confident that a deal will be reached with Blackburn Rovers for the transfer of Callum Brittain.

Boro saw earlier bids rejected for the right-sided defender but have remained interested in the 27-year-old.

Brittain (pictured) was identified as their top target for the position this summer after the exit of Anfernee Dijksteel, and he is handily comfortable playing as both a fullback and wing-back.

Though a deal is not yet finalised between the two Championship clubs, The Gazette understand that recent talks have progressed much further and there's an increased belief that Boro will get the deal over the line.
