TV5 ends content deal with ABS-CBN

|December 05, 2025
In a statement sent to media outlets Thursday, December 4, 2025, TV5 stated that while it “recognizes the value of ABS-CBN’s well-loved programs to our viewers,” the Kapamilya network’s “failure to meet their financial commitments to us has made it very difficult for us to compensate our own employees, talents, and partners.”

The headquarters of broadcast companies ABS-CBN and TV5 in Quezon City and Pasig City, respectively.
Emphasizing that the company has always been a “Kapatid to anyone in need” — citing as examples when they gave ABS-CBN a home when it lost its franchise in 2020, and to “Eat Bulaga” when its hosts cut ties with its longtime producer TAPE Inc., — TV5 said it is also faced with its own challenges.
“Our Content Agreement requires them to remit, on a timely basis, TV5’s share of revenues they collect from advertisers. These amounts collected, our share being held for ABS-CBN by TV5, has reached such material value as to severely affect TV5’s ability to settle its own obligations.”
It added, “Despite our repeated appeals, ABS-CBN has failed to pay what is due. Neither have they given assurances, nor indicated that they can or will.”
