Days after the CCPO haul of P2M shabu

Days after the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) seized nearly P2-million worth of illegal drugs, the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) declared, via formal recognition on August 18 (Monday), two more barangays of Cebu City---Cogon Ramos, and Sta. Cruz---as drug-cleared barangays.

Representatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Health (DOH), the CCPO, and Cebu City Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (COSAP), among other city government officials, attended the official declaration event of ROCBDC.

This latest addition of Cogon Ramos and Sta. Cruz brought to 41 the number of drug-cleared barangays, out of 80, in Cebu City.

Both barangays, under the jurisdiction of the Abellana Police Station 2, were previously identified as “moderately” and “seriously affected” drug-problem areas, based on past assessment and evaluation of PDEA.
