Quirante Construction clarifies it is distinct from QM Builders

Quirante Construction Corporation, which has bagged over P3.1 billion worth of contracts for 41 infrastructure projects in Cebu, defended its reputation amid scrutiny over flood control projects, but clarified that it is a separate entity from QM Builders, despite family ties.

The company released an official statement following public rumors that linked it to alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

It clarified that, while its owners are related to those of QM Builders, the two firms operate independently and manage distinct projects.

Quirante Construction emphasized in its statement that it has its own management, resources, and systems to ensure transparency, accountability, and quality in all its operations.

"The volume of projects entrusted to us reflects our capacity, resources, and more than 18 years of steady work and perseverance in the construction industry," the company said.

According to documents from the Sumbong sa Pangulo website, which The Freeman obtained and enumerated, the firm secured projects in Cebu amounting to P3,191,888,000.
