Despite the recommended cuts, Martinez emphasized that the programs, projects, and activities of Governor Pamela Baricuatro remained intact.

"All the programs and activities planned by the local chief executive have not been touched. What we reviewed were primarily maintenance and operating expenses," he said.

During the session, Board Member Raymond Joseph Calderon, meanwhile, asked for details on which specific items were recommended for removal.

Martinez cited several allocations charged against the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) funds that the committee found inconsistent with the purpose of disaster risk reduction.

These include P3 million for climate-resilient production and technologies through regular vaccinations, deworming, and vitamin supplementation for farms, and another P3 million for African swine fever support.
