MCIA, Pusô Village light up Christmas season

The holiday spirit officially arrived in Cebu this week as the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) and Carbon Market's Pusô Village held lighting ceremonies that marked the start of the city's Christmas celebrations, both highlighting themes of unity, resilience, and hope.

MCIA, the Philippines' main tourism gateway for the Visayas and Mindanao, welcomed the season on December 4, 2025, with the ceremonial lighting of its iconic Christmas tree at the Terminal 1 Airport Village.

With the theme "A Christmas of Light and Hope for Every Home," the airport transformed its terminal into a glowing symbol of warmth and joy, underscoring its role as the main gateway for Filipino families returning home for the holidays.

Athanasios Titonis, Chief Executive Officer of Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC), said the airport aims to give travelers more than just a transit experience.

"At MCIA, we strive to be more than just a transit point; we are a place where journeys connect and stories begin. This year's theme reflects our commitment to bringing warmth, comfort, and positivity to every passenger passing through our gates," Titonis said.
