“Masud pa lagi na'g usa”

Those who regularly take public utility vehicles are familiar with the scenario of an over-packed PUV; vehicles with a capacity of a certain number are always made to carry more.

“Masud pa lagi na’g usa” is a frequent thing drivers and conductors like to say. It’s like they cannot understand that fact that not all passengers have the same size, that 10 plus-sized passengers cannot occupy the same space as 10 smaller passengers.

Out of compassion for a fellow commuter who may otherwise be stranded for hours before his next ride, many commuters just try to nudge themselves into the next passenger, make themselves as small as possible, or position themselves a bit more forward in the bench to allow for more space to be created.
