LPA weakens, rains to persist
The Freeman
|May 08, 2025
The low-pressure area (LPA) last monitored near the coastal waters of Pulupandan, Negros Occidental is projected to dissipate according to the latest advisory from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Although the weather disturbance has minimal potential to intensify into a tropical cyclone, it remains capable of triggering moderate to heavy rainfall across several regions. The weather system is expected to affect the Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, and parts of Quezon province.
Rain-induced landslides and flash floods remain possible in susceptible areas, particularly those that experienced rainfall in recent days.
