|May 27, 2025
The Department of Interior and Local Government has directed local government units to establish an Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) Office and craft local EEC plans while also encouraging them to implement digital payments for government transactions.
-
DILG said that the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) is a government-wide initiative aimed at reducing electricity and fuel consumption in all government agencies through efficient use of energy resources, including electricity-saving measures and fuel efficiency in the operation of government vehicles.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla issued Memorandum Circular 2025-515 to direct LGUs to craft a local EEC plan that outlines specific conservation strategies, target cost reductions, and motor vehicle inventories.
