Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito "Jonkie" Ouano has vowed to deliver on his key campaign promises --a dedicated building for Mandaue City College and a state-of-the-art Mandaue City Hospital-- within his term.

In his inaugural address yesterday, Ouano laid out what he described not as a political platform, but a “people’s agenda”, crafted from the voices of the Mandauehanons, rooted in lived realities, and driven by hope.

“I have walked with you. Listened to you. I have seen the struggles in our schools, the pain in our hospitals, and the promise in every dreamer striving to rise. And now, your voice will become the direction of this administration,” Ouano said in his speech.

During the inaugural session of the 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday, Ouano was invited to present his executive agenda for the next three years.

He was accompanied by Councilors Carlo Fortuna and Joel Seno. All members of the City Council were in attendance.

Ouano emphasized that education and healthcare are among the flagship programs of his administration. He assured Mandauehanons that a modern city hospital is on the horizon.

He is closely coordinating with Dr. Gerry Aquino, Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center chief of hospital, whose expertise is playing a key role in developing the plans for the new Mandaue City Hospital.

“In a city as strong and capable as Mandaue, no one should be denied medical care because of cost,” Ouano said.
