'HugYaw' host Jamie Javier still fights off stage fright

There is no such thing as a day off for Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) Cebu 2025 third runner-up Jamie Javier. As soon as she finishes nursing duties at the Lapu-Lapu City Public Hospital, the next day sees her creating content for her nearly 1.5 million followers on TikTok and 60,000 more on Instagram.

"It’s not really a balanced schedule," Javier said during a backstage interview while preparing for another gig: hosting BisayaFlix’s weekly variety show “HugYaw” with Akiko Solon, Romeo Beltran, Enerva Canasa, Raffy Buenconsejo, Jay-R Siaboc, Borgie Cabigas, and Jessel Regis.

Some may be surprised that she actually endures stage fright. Having worked with BisayaFlix as one of the leads in their action films “Aset” and “Associate,” she sees this hosting opportunity for “Hug Yaw” as a way to calm her nerves when speaking in public.

"I said yes to this for the experience. I know that speaking with other people, both on stage and in the crowd, could give me confidence," she said. "It’s the same why I joined pageants, which is to train myself. It’s like a game, basically."
