Hospitals on Code Blue as Sinulog Festival nears

Two major government hospitals in Cebu City are now under Code Blue as part of the city’s intensified preparations for the upcoming Sinulog Festival two weeks from now.

Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak said the city is now 75 percent ready, with hospitals, barangays, and disaster response units placed on heightened alert ahead of the festivities.
Tumulak, who chairs the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) and sits on the Sinulog executive committee, confirmed that both the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) and Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) are currently under Code Blue status.
Under the heightened alert, medical teams, supplies, and emergency protocols have been fully mobilized in preparation for the grand celebration on January 18 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
