GOD IS NEVER LATE
The Freeman
|October 12, 2025
“God is never late... He is always on time.” This was the message of a priest to parishioners in his homily one Sunday.
-
As I was going home from mass, his message kept on coming back to my mind — so much so that I rhetorically asked “If that were so, how is it that He has not answered by prayer?”
You see, I’ve been praying for some time now for an inactive business venture of my family to get sold. My children and I could do with some financial windfall.
As I was thinking this, an “inner voice” reverberated in my mind, assuring me that God is a loving God, who is good all the time. He has plans not to harm, but plans to give us hope for a better future.
There and then, I felt ashamed — ungrateful even — to think that the Lord has been ignoring my pleas. Truth be told, the Lord has already showered me and my family with blessings.
