Cebu City Inter-Collegiate cage wars fires off today
The Freeman
|August 20, 2025
After more than a decade, bigtime hardcourt action featuring Manila teams returns to the Queen City of the South with the staging of the Cebu City Inter-Collegiate Invitational Basketball Tournament 2025, which will kick off today (Wednesday, August 20) at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Barangay Sawang Calero.

The last time an event of such magnitude took place in this side of the archipelago was in 2014 when the La Salle Green Archers, National University Bulldogs, Far Eastern University Tamaraws, and San Beda Red Lions descended on Cebu City for the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Elite Eight.
Action begins at 8 p.m. pitting the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.

BBM weaponizing the ombudsman?
If the nation takes the words of such trapos as Senators Imee Marcos, Bato de la Rosa, or Rodante Marcoleta, we would be led to believe the appointment of Jesus Crispin Remulla as ombudsman would foment political instability.
