Cebu City appeals for volunteers, equipment

While Typhoon Tino left damage across the city, Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival appealed for additional volunteers and equipment to support ongoing clearing operations, as some barangays remain inaccessible.

A day after the typhoon, various personnel from the Cebu City Government had already been deployed across the affected areas. Despite this, Archival, in a statement posted on social media, acknowledged that many mountain barangays remain inaccessible due to landslides, fallen trees, and damaged infrastructure, hampering the delivery of aid and essential services.

"Again, we need your strength, time, and heart. If you have heavy equipment, volunteer drivers, or clearing tools, we would appreciate your help. Every extra hand counts," Archival said.

He urged those with the capacity to assist to report to the Mayor's Office at Cebu City Hall, where coordination will be handled by personnel from the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO).
