CCAP urges vigilance against Illicit BPO operations in Cebu

As one of the Philippines’ fastest-growing outsourcing hubs, Cebu City is under a sharp spotlight following the proliferation of illegal business process outsourcing (BPO) operations masquerading as legitimate contact centers.
Industry leaders are sounding the alarm, as concerns mount over the damage these fraudulent firms could inflict on the country’s global reputation as a trusted outsourcing destination.
The Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), which represents over 168 legitimate BPO players, has pledged to tighten oversight across the sector.
Speaking on behalf of the organization, CCAP President Haidee Enriquez and Board Director Mitch Locsin emphasized their commitment to safeguarding the industry’s credibility by ramping up monitoring efforts and working with authorities to identify and dismantle illicit actors.
