Cash gifts for seniors being readied

The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) is set to release the P10,000 cash gift for senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95 from July to December of last year, while continuing to process claims from the start of this year up to September 30, 2025.
This rollout is part of the implementation of Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarian Act, which extends the government's recognition of elderly Filipinos beyond the traditional centenarian milestone.
Signed into law in February 2024, the Expanded Centenarian Act amends Republic Act No. 10868 to include cash gifts for octogenarians and nonagenarians.
Filipino citizens who reach the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95 are now entitled to a P10,000 grant at each milestone age, in addition to the P100,000 given to those who reach 100 years old.
