BSP to release book on financial system risk and resilience

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is preparing to launch a new book next year titled “Risk and Resilience in the Philippine Financial System: How Much Has Changed?”

The book will look back at major financial crises that affected the country, how the Philippines responded to them, and the lessons that helped strengthen the financial system over time.

Before the book’s release, the BSP held a closing conference on November 4, 2025, at its head office in Manila. The event brought together current and former BSP officials, experts from universities, and leaders from the financial sector. They discussed key crises that will be featured in the book, including the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, the 2008-2009 Global Financial Crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic, and other important financial episodes that shaped national policy.
